So, I haven’t had a chance to upload some pictures from my last scrapping day with my neighbor.  Without further adieu:

CTMH Paper Used: Level 2 Paper Packs of Caprice, Magic Moments, Rough and Tumble and Notebook (used Making Memories Packaging tape for the H2O Watercolored layout).  Used the cricut for the Snow Day layout (sled and flakes).

Second: on the 2 of a Kind page are the Heartfelt Whimsy Felt diecuts (I used the ones in Garden Green).  These are such a cool 3D embellishments!  Love ‘em…

Third: Tru-Fit folios! These are ready to decorate 12×12 folders that fit in your scrapbook album and will hold your special memories!  There are 4 scrapping surfaces (front/back/inside), although I opted only to scrap the front as I am going to cram it full of art projects from my kids each school year…thus, I will need the extra space for the items stored.  I may scrap the back side eventually OR I will position it in my album adjacent to another page…haven’t decided yet.  See the Tru-Fit Folios in the following pages: Mrs. Gallatin, Mrs. Wilkerson, and 6 months  below.

After all this excitement in new product, it just about made my last page about my daughter’s beloved blanket (Funky) pretty inconsequential…but, I love it…its all about documenting the little things in life!

Thanks to my neighbor and upline for this creative layout that we did at scrapbook club!  My favorite part is how the colors so unexpectantly match.  The design came from the Cherish book by Jeanette Lynton and the paper is from the CTMH Creative Basics Emporium Collection card kit (it even comes with the Vineyard Berry ribbon!!!)  The stamps were Love Language for the hearts and Chocolate Alphabet Small for the title…

Then, I scrapped with my neighbor, Tracey, this weekend.  Feeling rather uninspired, I am very happy to have completed 3 additional pages, one of which was a 2 page layout…for me, it is much more motivating to scrap with a friend…this is what its all about…catching up with each other, sharing stories, supporting one another.  Its a way to stay connected, beyond the actual pages.

Scrapbooking makes me HAPPY!

So here is my official “report” of  What I Did on My Summer Vacation:

The card kits were awesome: I made 24 cards in 45 minutes.  And, there are leftover stickers to make more cards…I’m sure I’ll be ordering more of these (cards are not my “thing” – I do them, but I don’t get the same joy as I get from scrapbooking).

Also exciting for me was the I got to use the Animal Cookies paper pack for the first time…I’ll be using more of it soon for my children’s 5th birthday pictures (Webkinz themed), but I have to get them printed first.

I also used More to Adore paper pack for the first time…in a somewhat non-traditional Easter Egg Hunt page.  I really like the way it turned out…

Lastly, I was able to use the That’s Amore paper pack with a trio of Santa lap pictures taken when my kids were 2, 3, and 4 years old.  I like how the layout ended up with a nostalgic feel to it.  And, I realized that I have done 2 holiday layouts with this paper pack…must be conducive to it because of colors

“ColorWheel” Challenge. Go to an online color wheel and complete a layout using 2 colors ACROSS the color wheel from each other…not as hard as you think (Red/Green are across from each other), but if you’d like to step outside of your color box, it should be pretty easy with this challenge.

My submission:

Used pink (Hollyhock) and green (Sweet Leaf) in the Boom-Di-Ada paper pack (also had to add some blue so as to not alienate my poor son also in the pictures)!

Here is a Tickled Pink card I did today to thank my incredible Aunt Gloria and Uncle Art for inviting us to the beach house in SC…we leave in 2 days and I am VERY excited!

Colors used: Hollyhock (1st and 2nd generation stamping), Twilight (1st and 2nd generation stamping), Sweet Leaf (1st and 2nd generation stamping).

In 1996, I “sold” Cutco knives.  It was a disaster.  Not only did I spend $$$ buying the knife set, but I also ending up forking over a lot of $$$ to purchase career wear as a struggling college student.  I never made a single sale, but my parents have enjoyed the knives ever since (yes, they were great knives, but who did I know that would really invest in them!?)  Lesson learned: great product, but too expensive to sell.

In 2004, I “sold” Leaving Prints.  It was a scrapbooking company that ended up bankrupt within a few years of my consultancy.  But, I liked the product.  And it was affordable.  The problem was that no one had heard of them before.  And, considering they later went bankrupt, name recognition is as important as product quality.

In 2009, I decided to join Close To My Heart for a number of reasons:

• The biggest motivator for me was that I’d get $350 worth of products for $99.
